Treehouse Parenting Program
Gympie Community Place is providing the new location for the QuIHN Treehouse Parenting Program in 2018.
QuIHN is a statewide service that supports and promotes the health and wellbeing of people who use illicit drugs, or who have used them in the past, or are members of the community touched or affected by illicit drug use.
The Treehouse Parenting Program is aimed at supporting parents in these circumstances. It engages parents who experience substance use and mental health concerns in a non-judgemental and supportive manner. The QuIHN team have a good understanding of the challenges these parents face and work in partnership with clients to achieve their goals. The program has a strong underlying framework of attachment and encompasses the circle of security model. The Treehouse Parenting Program supports parents by enhancing positive parenting skills, addressing parenting concerns and offering information and support on the effects of substance use and mental health on positive parenting.
The group is facilitated once a week for half a day over 10 weeks. It includes lunch and there is no costs involved.
For more information or to join the program please phone QuIHN on freecall 1800172076 or at their Sunshine Coast Office on 5443 9576.
